faq (frequently asked questions)

The following are some questions that have come up over the life of maloneysbaloney.org. If you have questions that are not answered on this FAQ document, please contact us with your questions.

What is Brainwashing 101? Where can I view it?
Brainwashing 101 is a forty-five minute documentary released by On The Fence Films LLC. The film alleges that colleges in the United States of America make a deliberate effort to indoctrinate students in liberal politics, and actively suppress expressions of conservative/Christian thought. The film premiered at the American Film Renaissance Festival in 2004.09, and according to the film's producers, a full-length documentary covering the same topics will be released sometime in 2005.

Brainwashing 101 is downloadable from the Website academicbias.com, which is also run by On The Fence Films LLC. From the homepage, click on "Video" in the top menu bar to either download or stream the movie. For those without the Internet connections necessary to download or stream the video (the file is over 75 MB in size), a DVD is offered for $19.95. It's free to download, though ...

I hardly see any graphics on maloneysbaloney.org at all. Why is the Website designed this way?
The decision to make maloneysbaloney.org a low-graphic Website was made for two reasons: one, as the textual content of the Website is what we want people to notice, we didn't want the graphics of the Website to overpower the text; and two, we wanted to minimize loading times as much as possible.

What is with the funny date formatting and English spellings on the Website?
The date formats on this Website are in Japanese format (YYYY.MM.DD, where YYYY is the current year, MM the current month and DD the current day of the month), a format favoured by maloneysbaloney.org founder Sean Shannon. Likewise, spellings on this Website are likely to be in UK English (e.g. "colour" instead of "color") because that is the style that Sean uses.

According to Sean Shannon's biography, one of her interests in English is so-called "Marxist theory." Is Sean a communist/socialist?
Contrary to what conservatives would have you believe, Karl Marx was not primarily interested in politics; Marx was a sociologist, someone who was far more interested in how human beings interact with each other in all manners of life. Marxist literary theory does not necessarily concern itself with Marxist economic theory; it is primarily concerned with studying how class and class structure affects literature, both in terms of how people (fictitious or otherwise) are constructed in literature, as well as how people of different classes read the same articles of literature.

In terms of her economic beliefs, Sean identifies herself as a capitalist. However, she believes in a capitalism with tight government controls, with the government acting to make sure that the best interests of the people are protected from selfish interests of business.
